 Just a quick drink...

The sun was bright and harsh that day, just like any other. Koda was tired and thirsty. Who could blame him? Why don't you go out and play? they had said. Pah. Play in the boiling heat, with no shade, no water. Naturally, they had only wanted to get rid of him. He was not one of them - there was no denying it. He was not heartless or cruel like the other outlanders. Still, a home was a home.

As his amber eyes came to rest upon the river, his face spread into a wolfish grin as he broke into a run, gathering what little energy he had left to reach the cool waters. He skidded to a halt at the bank and began to drink thirstily. Yes, he knew he was dangerously close to the Pridelands, but he was too thirsty to care. A great river filled with hungry crocodiles seperated them. What could go wrong?

(this is going to be very very short...beware!)

Kovu's body was heavy, he hadn't taken a stroll in a while and was aware of himself gaining weight. He didn't know whether it was fat or muscle, but he knew that either way he would be aiming to impress Kiara. Currently, he knew he hadn't seen her in a while, and was dying to visit her and say hello. He couldn't wait. Where had she gone?

Then, he saw an Outlander, probably one of his mother's male friends. Wait...male? Was he knew or something? Kovu growled, and ran to the river. "What're you doing, kid?" he demanded, showing his teeth then relaxing.

Koda looked up in suprise, and instantly snarled defesively. I'm no kid, he retorted indignantly, furious at such an insult. After all, his mane was coming through. Kid, indeed. Can't a lion do so much as drink without being disturbed these days? He vaguely recognised the other male from somewhere, though he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
